BACKGROUND + CREDENTIALS
I write a ton of bios for other people, but it's always challenging to turn the lens back on myself. So, here's a pic of me enjoying a bevanda calda on a chilly morning in a little town called Bagni Di Lucca, in the Garfagnana region of Tuscany. I'm telling you this, not just to prove I can string a whole whack of words together with style, but because this was one of the most memorable moments from a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Italy. And it pretty much sums up what I think about writing, design, and teaching – it all comes down to sharing memorable stories and ideas.
Here's some other stuff about me: I believe in critical and creative thinking. I live for clarity and simplicity. I’ve been working in education and design for over 30 years, and all the while, I've been secretly proofreading manuscripts for a published author friend who writes fantastic picture books and novels. My secret side-gig gives me such a thrill, I frequently consider running off to join the publishing world. Alas, I love design. And I love to teach. And it turns out I am ideally suited for one-on-one coaching and instruction. So instead of abandoning one for the other, I have created wordpop – a one-stop shop where I get to play with words and ideas, and you get all the writing, editing, design, organization, and learning support that you need.
